Yep! This is going to be my masterlist of threads I'd like to be in.
Some characters/plots I'd especially like to see: -- Sweden - Any era with Sweden is fine, really. During the Swedish Empire days, they did everything together. Escaping the Kalmar Union, fighting in the Northern Wars... whatever. Though Sweden didn't support Finland in WW2, that could be a good plot itself. -- Russia - I'd like some Winter War action, especially. An RP set in the Grand Duchy or at any other time would be good, too. -- Norway - WW2-era. I can see them being skitrooper bros. Pfff... -- Lithuania and/or Poland - Especially something from the Northern Wars or [for Lithuania only] the time they spent together under the Russian Duchy. -- Denmark - Especially Kalmar Union, but something viking-era would be awesome, too. -- Germany and/or Prussia - Finland was a Nazi, too, you know. However, not having signed the Tripartite Pact, he wasn't allied with Italy and Japan.
Some things I'm NOT willing to RP: -- Russia/Finland (as a romantic pairing) - Finland hates him. They can't be romantic. 'Nuff said.
Honestly, I'm willing to RP with anyone as long as we can think up a plot!

You don't know how happy I am to hear that. ^^ I have never actually RPed with a Finland before, but from what I have seen Russ/Fin is becoming scarily popular these days. (Nothing against those players who enjoy it! It just happens to not be my cup of tea either.) I actually play Russia as mostly straight anyways here, with of course a bi-tendency concerning Lithuania. So you shall not have to worry about me trying to ever talk you into romantic stuff. ; )
I would love to do some Winter War stuff with you though. I've actually wanted to do something like that for awhile now, but as I mentioned, I have never been able to find a Finland to RP with.
I am only in two threads with Russia right now, but I have a billion with France, so I want to finish up one or two of those before we would start anything though. (I think I am rather close to being finished on a few of them.) Still, we can plot something up now and then I can drop you a PM when I am ready to open another thread if you want.

I would love to do something WWII-related with you, Fin! Only thing is, you'll have to wait for me to finish at least one of the threads I'm in first, since I'm currently in 4 ( I haven't technically entered the 4th yet, but I will be in it any day now ) and that's the absolute maximum that I can handle at a time. *is lame like that*
It's never to early to start plotting though, so if you have any ideas, let me know and we can plan something out. I admit that I don't know too much about Finland's role specifically in WWII, but I am willing to learn and research.

How about Spain/Finland? /shot Ihadto,Icouldn'tresist!;o;Anyway, it's nice to meet you, it's been a while since we had our first Northern Europeans, so it's nice to see another one come through. Hopefully you will be able to find some events to thread (it looks like you were). I would rp with you, but it doesn't look like we have a lot of history together... however, welcome!

Russia -
Mm, I'm not a fan of any hate-based romantic pairing, and I've never really attempted a romance plot. I'm sort of like you in that I couldn't RP Finland as anything but hetero. I've always considered Swe/Fin to be a one-sided romance. In general, I prefer my countries as bros just being bros, or as enemy soldiers.
I'm excited to get this started! I put my IM contact information in my introductory post if you have MSN. If not, we can plot something through PMs or somewhere on the forum.
...
Germany -
The main war we'd be focusing on is the Continuation War. To summarize, Finland got pretty hurt during the Winter War. He had no allies during the war, but he managed to repel Russia by himself. However, he was outmatched when it came to numbers of tanks and guns, he'd lost many soldiers, and Russia was threatening to attack again. He was asking for help from Sweden, England, and France, but Sweden wouldn't help him and England and France were too tied down with their own battles to aid him much. Finally, Germany offered to help with the agreement that Finland would ally with the Nazis. In the end, Finland had no choice but to accept. He allied himself with Germany, but not with Italy or Japan. The Allies generally accepted that the Continuation War was a seperate event from WW2, knowing that Finland had no other option than to ally with Germany if he wanted to remain autonomous. With Germany's help, Finland was victorious in remaining his own nation (though he did cede part of his land to Russia). After the Continuation War, Germany invaded northern Finland (which, of course, is a conduit to Russia). Finland didn't like this too much, of course, so in the Lapland War, he managed to repel Germany back into Norway.
Actually, my friend and I once had this joke that it was as if Tino was a druggie, and his normal suppliers weren't giving him anything, so he decided to pimp himself out to Ludwig for drugs. It helps me memorize things; don't judge me.
That's the main gist of it. ^^ As I told Russia, I put my MSN information in my introductory post in the Meet and Greet section (If you don't have it from Hatafutte) so we can either plan over IM or through the forum.
...
Spain -
Actually, Spain and Finland (then part of the Swedish Empire) fought against each other in the Scanian Wars. If you really want to, we could make this work.
Thanks for the welcome!

Actually... for some reason, I knew that.... I came across it when I was trying to look up wars i which the Northern Europeans were involved with the politics on the continent. I remember going, "Haha, what really?" and bugging England (back then Sweden) about it because it seemed lolzy to me. However, it woudl be at least fun to discuss and see if it could turn into a thread. Hit me up on it -- you have MSN or AIM?

I do, indeed, have an MSN. As I told Germany and Russia, it's in my introductory post and I'll add it to my profile, as well.

Oh man, I fail hard at romance if I am writing for Russia. XD I really struggle if I am stuck trying to write fluff with him. Probably why I like to throw him into a sadomasochist relationship if I am going to do anything pairing related with him. I am very fond of the enemy soldiers angle for a lot of Hetalia characters. I think viewing them that way really works for a historical board.
I do have MSN, and I can swing by your introductory post and add you. I am not on it too much, but I can pop on if you want to plot something out there. Or you can add me at Darkdreamer_640@msn.com. I'm not shy, or afraid to give out my e-mail at all. ~

What a nice summarization! We'll definitely have to do something like that at some point — I'll start reading up on it a little in my spare time, so by the time we get around to actually threading I'll have more ideas as to what kinds of things I'd like to play out regarding that. Thank you! I'll let you know when I'm ready for another thread. I can't say for sure when that'll be, but I know that at least one of them should be ending after a few more rounds. XD Whatever helps you remember! I think it's kind of sad that in Finland's dark hour he could only get help from Nazi Germany, because no one else could be bothered. Regrettable that he had to ally himself with that regime, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I saw you mention something about this in the Cbox as well, but I never actually roleplayed on Hatafutte Parade. I made an account there ( WWII Ace ), but it was purely for the sake of getting ahold of the Prussia there, since I had no other means of contacting her and we had a lot to discuss. But I never took a character or did anything besides PM her with that account; my intent was to delete myself once we'd finished our conversation and established another means of contact ( my MSN didn't work with her for some reason ). So I'm wondering how you knew? ( The mystery deepens! ) Apart from Darker Reflections, the only other Hetalia roleplay forum I have ever been on was World Council, which was the much-the-same previous incarnation of Hatafutte Parade. I had a great time on there — even volunteered my time as a mod — but not long after I joined one of the two admins left, and eventually the remaining admin started losing interest in the site and falling behind in her posts and admin duties. When it appeared the site was dying, the Russia and I started making this site as a backup, just in case. Finally, when the two of us, Lithuania, and a Norway were the last active members, we all moved over here, where, with the exception of Norway who left the site some months back, we're all still playing today with the same characters we had on WC. Um, yeah. I'll try adding you to my MSN - hopefully it'll go through. And, of course, you can always PM me or pounce on me in the Cbox. I'm online quite a bit, thanks to having abundant time to spend sitting at the computer these days.

Huh. Well. I must've thought you were someone else from the site. That or I'm just psychic. Honestly, I don't know. Somehow I just knew you were a member there. That's... kinda weird, now that I think about it. When I read your profile, your writing style seemed really familiar, so I guess I thought I'd seen it on HP. Apparently not.
If you can't get MSN to work, it's completely fine. I'm not used to using the C-box so I forget to check it sometimes, but as long as I'm logged into the site I'll make an effort to look at it every once in awhile.
