So we all love talking to each other in chat, we laugh, we sing (poor renditions of songs) and occasionally engage in deep conversations. However most of the time, we use it to catch up with each other, talk about characterization and generally get a feel for each other (I mean in a platonic way, you jerk).
Then there's the handful of us who are well, like to go above and beyond. Sometimes the inner muse gets the best of us and we do something that is out of the ordinary. As the words flow from our minds, through our fingers and onto the screen (causing us to either smirk or widen our eyes in horror), some natural phenomenon erupts.
But it's too late, the damage is done. The following may or may not result in a roar that could rival that of a terrible storm as the reactions flood in after, some responses, challenges to up the ante.
Yes. We create crack.
Some of it is so good, we want to give our friends here a glimpse of the madness that went on in the chat/forum. Since some of the changes to the forum are temporary and the chatbox likes to flip out on our shenanigans, it is sometimes best to make a screen capture. For fun. Or something like that.
So let's begin.
Here is a keyboard:
If you have a desktop, congratulations, you have less work to do. Look above your number pad and you'll see the words "print screen." If you are on a laptop, one with a smaller keyboard than a desktop, you'll see something like the picture above. Look for a function key labeled "Fn" and a print screen key labeled "Prt sc" and hold the first one down before hitting the other one.
Congratulations. You should have captured the image.
Now open up your photo editor, whether that be your Paint program, GIMP or Photoshop. Once you have opened up a new document, hit "Ctrl" and "v" to paste it in. Then save it as a .PNG!!! Otherwise the graphics deities will frown down upon you and mutilate your image for picking a format of lesser quality to spite you! No, really. If you don't, you get something like this:
Image on the top? JPEG format... the one on the bottom? PNG. Top, JPEG, bottom, PNG. Top, yucky goop, bottom, just beautiful. Comprendo?
And there you have it, a way you can keep your own special memories of what goes on here at Darker in a special little archive.Which you may or may not bring out once in a while to hold over the heads of other members. Which you may want to share in the Good Ol' Times section of this forum. Enjoy!
