1. How long have you been roleplaying? I think about five years, but there was a period in there where I wasn't active on any site for about a year, I think.
2. What is your favorite thing about roleplaying? The fact that I don't have to write the whole story. xD RPing is kind of like collaborative storytelling, which motivates me to stay with it longer since I dump just about every story I write after the first few chapters.
3. How many RP boards have you been a member of? Give the approximate number if you can, or put “too many to count” if you can’t. About 10, I think.
4. Do you find that you more often play male or female characters? I definitely tend to lean in the direction of male characters more.
5. Juveniles or adults? Juveniles... The youngest I've ever played was 11, and the oldest was 30-something, but most of the ones inbetween were in the 13-25 range.
6. When RPing a fandom, do you prefer a more canon universe or alternate universes? I tend to like canon more because AUs...hn. I dunno, I just find it harder to stay in-character in them.
7. How many words were in the longest post you’ve ever written? 1.5k or so, which was in the thread I'm doing with China right now. xD
8. Do you find it helpful to color text for character speech? I used to hate that, but now I highly prefer it because it helps me find what people were saying easier when I go back to read their post before responding.
9. Have you ever been power-played? ( Someone else moves or has your character speak without your permission? ) If so, to what extent were you power-played? Back in my Neopets days (oh yes) one of the younger RPers was like "and then so-and-so laughed at all the others and *insertmycharacter'snamehere* was too stupid and was outsmarted". Whut...
10. Come on now, confession is good for the soul. :3 Have you ever power played? Honestly, I can say probably not to the extent that it would've changed the plot or upset somebody. I can't remember a specific instance when I might've.
11. Ever been in a thread with someone who godmoded? ( Made their character too hard to hit, too hard to injure, or just in general required you to suspend too much disbelief? ) See the question about powerplaying. c:
12. Have you ever godmoded? Probably. I had a character who was like, super strong and super fast and stuff, so I probably godmodded a bit with him, but I didn't RP him much anyway.
13. Ever been in a thread where YOU were the one who had to drive all the action and/or getting the plot carried out, because if you didn’t it wouldn’t get done? Not really.
14. In a thread, what’s the longest you’ve ever had to wait for a reply ( that you actually received )? About three weeks or a month or so.
15. Most unbelievable Mary Sue/ Gary Stu app you’ve ever seen on a site? There was a Taiwan somewhere that was like...everything sort of. She had just about every attribute that would help her in that particular RP, with few weaknesses.
16. Did the character in #15 get accepted? No.
17. Longest-lived RP site you’ve ever seen ( not necessarily been a member of ). Oh dear, I don't know. xD Though, the longest one I was a member of lasted over a year before I just sort of...stopped going. I dunno if it's still alive or not.
18. Most time you’ve ever spent working on a single post. Three days since the time I started working on it. I like to get them done in one sitting, but if my time doesn't allow that, I will split it up.
19. Most sites you’ve ever been on at one time. That would be right now, since I'm currently on four sites, soon to be five if I get around to opening mine like I've been saying I would. xD
20. Finally, which of the characters that you’ve RPed are you most like? Name character and fandom, if applicable. That was actually an OC, and the oldest (30-something) character I RP'd named Dongmei. It was on a fantasy site about creatures called Casivians, which were kind of like elemental cats with wings and could have up to three element powers depending on which generation they were. Dongmei was the Ice Casivian (first gen), and was pretty shy like myself, but also caring about those around her and rarely resorted to violence.

1. How long have you been roleplaying? In Hetalia, not more than about nine or ten months. In other fandoms, probably I started about seven years ago.
2. What is your favorite thing about roleplaying?
It's strange, because I'm really not the sort of person that would fit the stereotype of a roleplayer. It's sort of like my guilty secret. I guess a lot of people think it's all about escapism and so on, but really for me, I just love to write and I love to explore characters in depth. I'd always written fanfiction, but I fell in love with roleplay because it's so interactive, so you don't lose the inspiration to keep writing and creating.
3. How many RP boards have you been a member of? Give the approximate number if you can, or put “too many to count” if you can’t.
Um...I think my first one was about seven or eight years ago. A friend roped me into it and I got hooked on the whole idea of interactive writing. Then a friend and I made our own, for another fandom, and we ran it together for a couple of years. Then I didn't RP at all for about three years, and then I got back into it when I met a couple of really awesome writers. We became really good IRL friends and all had this elaborate RP plot going on. Then nothing after that until I joined a Hetalia board, and roped in Ludwig and Ivan. Then that board went down and they formed this place. So...short answer, maybe four or five in total.
4. Do you find that you more often play male or female characters? It's probably a fair split of both.
5. Juveniles or adults? Adults, always. I find it really impossible to write from a kid's point of view.
6. When RPing a fandom, do you prefer a more canon universe or alternate universes? It really depends. I've surely done both, and enjoyed both. For me, it's all about the characters. I don't really like sticking obsessively to canon, I think there's always room for flexibility. But wild and wacky AU's can be great fun too.
7. How many words were in the longest post you’ve ever written? Ahhh, I really don't know. Certainly it's not unheard of for me to break the 1K mark, or even 1.5k.
8. Do you find it helpful to color text for character speech? I honestly didn't even consider it until I joined that Hetalia board, and everyone was doing it. Now I'm used to it and I liked it better.
9. Have you ever been power-played? ( Someone else moves or has your character speak without your permission? ) If so, to what extent were you power-played? I have, in the first board I was on, and it's incredibly frustrating. But since then I've only ever been on advanced-literate boards, and it doesn't tend to happen so much there. I'm really picky now about who I'll RP with. I think that younger players tend to do it more, but most of the people I RP with at the moment are in my age range, and very talented and mature (that means you guys, by the way <3)
10. Come on now, confession is good for the soul. :3 Have you ever power played? Ah...yeah. On the really wacky board that I co-ran, the other admin and I were really impatient to wrap up a plot-line that was dragging out. Everyone was aware from the start that the story would have to end and people were struggling to wrap things up and everyone was starting to lose interest, so eventually we just made a giant monster and killed everyone's characters. Nobody minded though, because it was a very tongue-in-cheek board and everyone had tremendous fun playing out their tragic and over-the-top deaths.
11. Ever been in a thread with someone who godmoded? ( Made their character too hard to hit, too hard to injure, or just in general required you to suspend too much disbelief? ) Urgh, yes. But again, I don't have much patience for these things, so if someone is behaving crap-ly, then I'll just stop writing with them.
12. Have you ever godmoded? Only when I was co-running that board, and we made that impossible-to-defeat monster. But we were acting more as DM's than anything else.
13. Ever been in a thread where YOU were the one who had to drive all the action and/or getting the plot carried out, because if you didn’t it wouldn’t get done? Well...yeah. Towards the end of the board I ran, that was basically all I was doing. Which was a good sign that it was time to call it a day on that place.
14. In a thread, what’s the longest you’ve ever had to wait for a reply ( that you actually received )? Um...over a month, for sure.
15. Most unbelievable Mary Sue/ Gary Stu app you’ve ever seen on a site? Oh God, too many to name. One of my other fandoms is basically a magnet for Mary Sues.
16. Did the character in #15 get accepted? Ah, I can't really think of anything specific, but eh...I'm sure I've seen some attrocious profiles being accepted.
17. Longest-lived RP site you’ve ever seen ( not necessarily been a member of ). I've been a member of another board for a couple of years. But I don't think I've seen any last longer than that. I'm sure they exist though.
18. Most time you’ve ever spent working on a single post. I tend to sit down and do my posts all in one session, so probably not more than a couple of hours. That would be pretty much my limit, and even then it's unlikely.
19. Most sites you’ve ever been on at one time. Um...two maybe.
20. Finally, which of the characters that you’ve RPed are you most like? Name character and fandom, if applicable. Haha, well when I was young and foolish and new to the whole concept, I did RP what wasn't really much better than a self-insert. But I look back on that and cringe. I also RPed Sherlock Holmes, because when I was a kid I used to want to be him when I grew up. But realistically, maybe Commonwealth and pre-Soviet era Lithuania, actually. Although maybe I just pour too much of my own personality into writing him in general. It's probably more a lack of originality than a genuine similarity with the character. XD

1. How long have you been roleplaying? Oh Lord... you mean online? About three years I would say. If you mean offline with pen, notebook and friends, then the number goes well past 10 years. (I got started early.)
2. What is your favorite thing about roleplaying? The fact that I can write, but I don't have to write the entire scene. If that makes sense? I also like the community feel that develops on boards over time. You can make so many friends. Some of my best friends that have visited me have been from online RP boards.
3. How many RP boards have you been a member of? Give the approximate number if you can, or put “too many to count” if you can’t. I have been on 6 boards total. Counting all fandoms, not just Hetalia.
4. Do you find that you more often play male or female characters? Males. I have only ever played one female character, and she was super non-womanly and violent. (She made Russia at his worse look like a friendly puppy.) I guess the male characters usually have the temperaments I like more. They are less emotional usually.
5. Juveniles or adults? Adults now. I have problems playing younger characters sometimes. The mindset is harder for me to get into. I used to play them all the time way back when I first started RPing though.
6. When RPing a fandom, do you prefer a more canon universe or alternate universes? Canon universes work best fro me. AUs just seem odd to me, usually in a bad way. I like playing the character in the more canon setting that I am used to seeing them in. Or at least a similar setting. : )
7. How many words were in the longest post you’ve ever written? I think it was 1700 words... It's on here somewhere actually. Though I am not sure which thread it was in now.
8. Do you find it helpful to color text for character speech? Yes. I think it is helpful for finding what was said by the other character when it is time to reply. Also... it looks pretty.
9. Have you ever been power-played? ( Someone else moves or has your character speak without your permission? ) If so, to what extent were you power played? Oh yes. I was severely power-played before on a different site. The other person moved my character, made him do something out of character and then had him speak. ;_;
10. Come on now, confession is good for the soul. :3 Have you ever power-played? Not without permission from the person I am threading with. ^^ If I cannot do something without moving them a bit, I always ask first. Even if it is just a simple movement.
11. Ever been in a thread with someone who godmoded? ( Made their character too hard to hit, too hard to injure, or just in general required you to suspend too much disbelief? ) Yes again. It happened a lot on that other site I was a member of.
12. Have you ever godmoded? I don't think so? Maybe when I was younger though.
13. Ever been in a thread where YOU were the one who had to drive all the action and/or getting the plot carried out, because if you didn’t it wouldn’t get done? Yes, and it was awful. ;_; It was way back on another board, and if I didn't drive the plot along, it wouldn't go anywhere. It was a coffee date plot, and it took well over twenty replies to for our characters to get the damned coffee. And my partner's replies were all well over 1k every time. She just refused to do anything in that 1k, so I eventually moved everything along.
14. In a thread, what’s the longest you’ve ever had to wait for a reply ( that you actually received )? 3-4 months. I kid you not. This is why I really like activity rules. By the time my thread mate posted, I didn't even remember what all was going on in that thread, or what we had planned.
15. Most unbelievable Mary Sue/ Gary Stu app you’ve ever seen on a site? Well, there was a child ninja once on one of my sites... He mastered all forms of martial arts at age five, and then he could play whoop ass on any full grown adult with similar training. He also had special powers and a tragic past. Oh, and weird colored hair and eyes. (I think they changed colors too?)
16. Did the character in #15 get accepted? Hell no. I was an admin on that site. XD
17. Longest-lived RP site you’ve ever seen ( not necessarily been a member of ). A 3 year old proboards site. It was for Batman I think.
18. Most time you’ve ever spent working on a single post. Three days on and off. It was on here too. The reason it took so long was because I was so busy offline at the time, and could only work on it in segments.
19. Most sites you’ve ever been on at one time. 2. I don't join many at once, because I usually like to give only one site at a time my full attention. Plus, I don't want to drown myself in threads across a range of sites. Too confusing and muse draining.
20. Finally, which of the characters that you’ve RPed are you most like? Name character and fandom, if applicable. Well, since I usually play psychotic sociopaths with extreme bloodlusts and nasty tempers, most of my choices would be scary here. I would have to say France is the most like me here. Which is sad, because we don't have much in common. He is just the most sane and the least violent. Russia would be second, because he's also much milder than the others from other fandoms. XD

1. How long have you been roleplaying? Since January of ‘09. 2 years and 2 months. That's just for online written RPs. If we're talking offline and factoring in ANY form of roleplay, then 14 years. 2. What is your favorite thing about roleplaying? I love interacting with others, the unpredictability of the twists and kinks in the storylines ( an experience that can‘t be replicated when writing fanfic since you already know every detail of what will happen ), and improving my writing as I go. I also have a special fondness for the characters I roleplay and putting them into all kinds of hell situations. 3. How many RP boards have you been a member of? Give the approximate number if you can, or put “too many to count” if you can’t. I can count them all on one hand. 5. 4. Do you find that you more often play male or female characters? Male. I’ve actually only roleplayed a female once, despite being one myself. And that was only for like, 3 posts. XD Total number of males played? 5.5. Juveniles or adults? All of them were adults ( with the exception of playing the child version of Germany here for one thread ). I’ve found that I can actually write children fairly well when I care to, but usually I would rather deal with adults because I have more fun with the adult mindset and more mature situations ( on the whole; I really enjoyed my child!Ludwig thread ).6. When RPing a fandom, do you prefer a more canon universe or alternate universes? Depends on the canon and how much sense it makes, but I do lean heavily towards canon. I do like AUs sometimes, but I’ve never been a member of an AU site before, mostly because the AU forums I’ve seen mostly tend to explore the very “what-ifs” I’m not interested in. In Hetalia, I especially avoid Gakuen and everything dealing with the countries as humans and/or going to school. It’s simply not my cup of tea.7. How many words were in the longest post you’ve ever written? 3,622, not including OOC notes. It was on this site, actually, for my first post to the Stalingrad thread. I guess I got too carried away setting up the scene. ;D Seriously though, I try not to hit my threadmates with these too often. Between 700-1,200 words is much more typical of me, and I seldomly break 1.4k.8. Do you find it helpful to color text for character speech? Yes. Very.9. Have you ever been power played? ( Someone else moves or has your character speak without your permission? ) If so, to what extent were you power played? Yes. The first and biggest incident was on the first board I ever joined, which was open to all skill-levels. My threadmate had my character giggle at something hers did, and moved her around a little. This character of mine was as likely to giggle at a funny antic as Ludwig, btw. I was also pp’d to a more minor extent where someone stopped my character from doing an action I had him doing without my permission and then I had to make up a reason for him to stop, and it came off forced.10. Come on now, confession is good for the soul. :3 Have you ever power played? Not without express permission from the other player(s). Thankfully, by the time I joined the online RP scene, I was old enough to know better than to control someone’s character — even slightly — without asking. ^^ 11. Ever been in a thread with someone who godmoded? ( Made their character too hard to hit, too hard to injure, or just in general required you to suspend too much disbelief? ) No, thankfully.12. Have you ever godmoded? I don’t think so. I do tend to play canon-powerful characters, but I try to be realistic in fight scenes/etc. Unless he’s up against someone really weak and inept, my character will not dodge everything aimed at him, and even when the odds are strongly in his favor I sometimes factor bad luck in. 13. Ever been in a thread where YOU were the one who had to drive all the action and/or getting the plot carried out, because if you didn’t it wouldn’t get done? You betcha. It was pretty frustrating. >_< My threadmate in that could write 1.4k without moving the story along AT ALL. Russia knows what I’m talking about — it was the same person she mentioned in her answer to this question. XD We had separate threads with this person, and neither progressed unless we forced the progression. 14. In a thread, what’s the longest you’ve ever had to wait for a reply ( that you actually received )? 8 months and 6 days. It was for a thread that was abandoned, then later revived. For a non-abandoned thread, about a month, I think. There was one that I and one other person abandoned after 2-3 months when the person we were waiting on kept failing to post, despite logging into the site every day. 15. Most unbelievable Mary Sue/ Gary Stu app you’ve ever seen on a site? Oh, I’ve seen SO many of them, but I think the most unbelievable I ever saw was a 10-year-old boy who was a master of all forms of martial arts, had unbelievable magical powers for what he was supposed to be in the fandom, had a really tragic past, and could basically open up a can of whoop-ass on anyone, and several people/beasts at once, too. O.O 16. Did the character in #15 get accepted? No. The admins ( which consisted of me and 5 others ) didn’t buy it. XD17. Longest-lived RP site you’ve ever seen ( not necessarily been a member of ). This Harry Potter one. Founded 04/25/04, they’ll be 7 years old next month! O.o Still averaging 11 posts per day from their members, too. ( Look at the very bottom of the site to find these stats ).18. Most time you’ve ever spent working on a single post. Urgh….probably 4 days, chipping at it on and off and suffering through severe writer’s block/muse outtage. I can almost never finish my posts all in one sitting anyway, but some days are worse than others.19. Most sites you’ve ever been on at one time. 2. In one case I ended up dropping one site quickly after I joined another for a different fandom that I was more in the mood for, and in another case one of the boards I was on died of admin-neglect. It was just as well: 2 sites is 1 more than I can keep up with, it seems. I can only pour my heart and soul into one at a time. 20. Finally, which of the characters that you’ve RPed are you most like? Name character and fandom, if applicable. Definitely Germany of Hetalia. There are a few differences between us, of course, but I could be his female alter-ego. XD

1. How long have you been roleplaying? I have been online roleplaying since September of 2004. So...about 6.5 years, just about? I started LARP, DnD, and pen-and-paper roleplays before that, sometime in 2001 (I think). I guess this would make my tenth year total. *waves a little celebratory flag for making it to the decade mark*2. What is your favorite thing about roleplaying? That's a question I've been asking myself for a long time now, because I always end up getting bored with it and "retiring" for a time, but then eventually come back to it. If I had to hazard a guess, I think it would have to do with the "collaborative playwriting" ](I love that term) aspect. I've tried to write solo, but I can't do anything more than a short story before growing bored with it. There's no challenge or freshness to it; everything you're doing is well-planned and well-known to you when you're the only one writing. When there are others involved, though, it's much more fresh and fun. Even if you both essentially know what the plot is and how things are going to go, there's still that giddiness and anticipation to waiting to see exactly how the other person is going to approach it all, and how you can respond to drive the plot to its eventual conclusion.
I don't think of roleplaying as an "escape" like some people do (that is, people who tend to not know roleplaying well). I have videogames for that.3. How many RP boards have you been a member of? Give the approximate number if you can, or put “too many to count” if you can’t. There's the one that will remain unnamed...then there's the EAB and some high school one someone form the forum made...Literati and its spawn/followup Revo...three NationStates ones...Hata and here. I think I might have missed a couple, but whatever. So that's, what, at least ten forums?4. Do you find that you more often play male or female characters? Ah...I've gone into detail about this with Fin. I play males more often. I don't mind roleplaying as females and I tend to do it often enough, I guess, but I'm always so apprehensive about it. All my female characters tend to be lacking in...well..."feminine" qualities for various reasons, such as the fact that I can't abide playing "useless damsels," and the fact that I tend to have this...thing for independent women, I guess. ._.
I'm also hyper-paranoid about having my female characters "accidentally" become some manner of happy and kind stereotype and having someone go "wargh, fem-rant" on me. (Heaven forbid a guy roleplay as a nice lady! The nerve!) The unfortunate end result is that many of my female characters have ended-up falling in what I guess would be the strong, silent, "kill-joo-ded" side of the spectrum.
Except for one, but chaotic characters with sunny dispositions are just fun.5. Juveniles or adults? Meh, adults. I've tried doing kids, but my kids end up being creepy horror-movie versions (you know, like that "Orphan" movie) or kids that are more mature than their age for whatever reasons. I can't stand roleplaying as bubbly little kids, because there's only so little you can do with such a character.
So yeah, I tend to roleplay adults. I prefer roleplaying guys around middle age, whose best years are long behind them, but I've noticed most of my characters fall between 16-30 years of age.6. When RPing a fandom, do you prefer a more canon universe or alternate universes? Roleplaying fandom? I don't do that often, but I much prefer canon. There's just too many things I've seen go...horribly, horribly wrong when it comes to AU fandom. Things that cannot be unseen. Words that cannot be unread.
Besides, it's just easier to go with something that's ready-made.7. How many words were in the longest post you’ve ever written? 2,789 words. It is the longest post I have ever written by at least 1,200 words, and I actually decided to split it apart for commercial breaks...I mean, to be easier on the eyes and not so much of a tl;dr. I must admit, however, that I wasn't feeling especially inspired when I made it, as I'm sure is very evident in the lack-luster writing. I probably could have pushed it to upwards of 3,700-4,000 words if it had been a good day. *sighs*8. Do you find it helpful to color text for character speech? Yes, very. I've only recently started, though, as the first place I had seen it done was at Hata. I also agree with Russia that it's pretty. *nods*9. Have you ever been power-played? ( Someone else moves or has your character speak without your permission? ) If so, to what extent were you power played? Actually...I don't think so. Not without my permission, at least. Either I've been very fortunate, or any instances were so insignificant that I just don't remember anymore. Besides, I think I had the habit of using my ignore-cannon on such things, and simply going forward with how I wanted my character to do things. I dunno.10. Come on now, confession is good for the soul. :3 Have you ever power-played? Not without permission. I don't think I even did it while DMing; I typically gave fair warning before killing characters.11. Ever been in a thread with someone who godmoded? ( Made their character too hard to hit, too hard to injure, or just in general required you to suspend too much disbelief? ) Oh, of course. A few times. I usually just roll with it, unless it just gets far to unrealistic in how they're overestimating their character.12. Have you ever godmoded? I think I might have once, but that was only because I was using an unfinished profile, I think, and the abilities I used weren't explicitly liste, so the other person might have thought I was, but no one complained, becuase the fighting was nearly a stalemate anyhow. Other than that...can't say I have. If anything, I have the habit of placing limits upon my characters that actually make them less powerful than they realistically should be.13. Ever been in a thread where YOU were the one who had to drive all the action and/or getting the plot carried out, because if you didn’t it wouldn’t get done? Yep. That's what happens when you allow others to roleplay within your own fantasy worlds. I don't mind so much, but it gets frustrating when the roleplay is meant to have some open-endedness to it that the other players aren't utilizing because they're so used to being herded along a plotline...14. In a thread, what’s the longest you’ve ever had to wait for a reply ( that you actually received )? Maybe a month? I don't know. All I know is I've forced people to wait on me for much, much longer...and sometimes for no good reason whatsoever. I'm just so horrible about finishing threads I've started.15. Most unbelievable Mary Sue/ Gary Stu app you’ve ever seen on a site? You mean on an actual roleplaying site that's not Gaia, aka the land of Sues and Stus? I'm not sure. I typically stay clear of such places that allow such horrible abominations. Sadly, I can't remember any specific cases, as the worst offenders were from my earliest years, and more recent ones just weren't offensive enough to remember.16. Did the character in #15 get accepted? Usually no. At least, not without massive edits or explanations. All I know is that, on the EAB, sich attrocities were destroyed under a sea of logic. Well, the ones we caught, anyway.17. Longest-lived RP site you’ve ever seen ( not necessarily been a member of ). The Elite Authors' Boards is approaching something like 8 or 9 years or so. Maybe. I'm not entirely sure, as the boards "mysteriously" vanished a few years ago and had to be completely remade from Google's caching, as Proboards "mysteriously" couldn't restore it.
It's barely a shadow of what it once was, though, as it rarely gets more than 10 posts a day anymore. There's still a small group of people trucking along.18. Most time you’ve ever spent working on a single post. Maybe a day and a half or so, and that was for a post here. I don't typically start writing something until I'm ready to sit down and hammer it in one sitting.19. Most sites you’ve ever been on at one time. Perhaps three or four? That sounds about right. I like variety. I find it helps keep any one of them from feeling mundane.20. Finally, which of the characters that you’ve RPed are you most like? Name character and fandom, if applicable. Oh lawd, do I have to? D:
I remember that one High School roleplay, I submitted a character that was essentially a tweaked version of myself. Yeah, a self-insert. It was an OC on an AU Earth, though, so it didn't matter much. I basically just recreated how I saw myself, with all my "virtues" and "vices" and mannerisms.
He was initially rejected on the grounds of being too multi-faceted, if you can believe that. I had to fight for and explain several things about how all his varied personality traits were basically all tied to his ADHD before he was tentatively accepted. Even then, I think he was only accepted because they were familiar and comfortable with me and how I roleplay.

1. How long have you been roleplaying? Just a little over five years, I believe.
2. What is your favorite thing about roleplaying? It’s an outlet. It requires me to think about something other than the daily monotony around me and forces me to flex the creative part of my brain. I like writing, but I’m no good at it on my own; I end up getting derailed in my train of thought or writing in a circle. RPing with someone else keeps me on track because it gives me something to respond to. Also, I like reading what others write in order to improve my own literary abilities. I’m a grammar champion at most times, but not so much a creative genius.
3. How many RP boards have you been a member of? Give the approximate number if you can, or put “too many to count” if you can’t. I’ve been on three Proboards-type sites. I won’t include Gaia guilds, because in those cases, it was a matter of me joining, noticing the disparity in writing skill, and promptly leaving. Total = 3.
4. Do you find that you more often play male or female characters? Male, definitely. I suppose playing females should be easier, given that I am one, but I find that it’s hard for me to give females any personality other than my own. I’m not good at making those clingy, lovesick, super effeminate types, which I tend to see quite frequently. Males… they’re not simpler, per se, but I can relate to their mindsets more easily.
5. Juveniles or adults? Depends on your definition of the word, I suppose. I tend to RP in the 17 – 25 age range.
6. When RPing a fandom, do you prefer a more canon universe or alternate universes? Normally I prefer more canon just so I know what to expect and I don’t have to try to imagine the layout of the physical environment [so bad at that, I am]. I guess a better explanation would be that I don’t like RPing in an environment that someone else creates. Especially in terms of Hetalia, I don’t mind playing in a place that actually exists. It would be the difference between RPing in someone’s version of the Gakuen W Academy and in the UN building in New York; the former is no good, the latter is fine.
7. How many words were in the longest post you’ve ever written? Around 1.2 thousand.
8. Do you find it helpful to color text for character speech? Yes, and done the right way, the color of the dialogue can almost convey the character’s personality and voice. It’s obvious the difference between the personality of someone who speaks in a hot pink and a dark blue voice… if that makes any sense to anyone but me.
9. Have you ever been power-played? ( Someone else moves or has your character speak without your permission? ) If so, to what extent were you power-played? Not that I can recall, luckily. In group threads I’ve been in, there was usually an understanding that the person creating the thread and the backbone of the plot could drive the action, to a certain extent, in the way he or she wanted, but I don’t remember my character ever being forced to do something specific. I’ve never been in a one-on-one thread where my partner power-played me.
10. Come on now, confession is good for the soul. :3 Have you ever power played? I really don’t think I have. No one’s ever confronted me if I did.
11. Ever been in a thread with someone who godmoded? ( Made their character too hard to hit, too hard to injure, or just in general required you to suspend too much disbelief? ) Luckily, no.
12. Have you ever godmoded? Nah, I do better at creating and roleplaying wimpy, pathetic humans who can be killed easily.
13. Ever been in a thread where YOU were the one who had to drive all the action and/or getting the plot carried out, because if you didn’t it wouldn’t get done? Yes. I remember being in several roleplays where everyone else’s character would stand around talking about the most useless subjects, so my character would often walk away from the rest of the party to ‘explore’ the setting.
14. In a thread, what’s the longest you’ve ever had to wait for a reply ( that you actually received )? I don’t remember. I don’t know that I’ve ever been in a thread that made it to completion, so I don’t find it uncommon to wait for several weeks before the thread dies altogether.
15. Most unbelievable Mary Sue/ Gary Stu app you’ve ever seen on a site? It was a fan character. Typical Gary Stu – related to a major character in the series, shunned by his family so he trains to become stronger than all of them and get revenge. I’m sure he was 14 or 15, because young teenagers have complicated lives. Pfft.
16. Did the character in #15 get accepted? No. The other members picked it apart and deemed it unsalvageable. I helped.
17. Longest-lived RP site you’ve ever seen ( not necessarily been a member of ). Like Sverige said, Elite Authors’ Board. That was my home for a good many years. I recently left, and being one of the top posters [even if many of my posts were spam-like in nature], I don’t know how much activity goes on there now. It seemed to be on its last legs when I left.
18. Most time you’ve ever spent working on a single post. Few days at most. I like getting my ideas down in words while I can still remember them.
19. Most sites you’ve ever been on at one time. Two. I’m not a big RPer, really.
20. Finally, which of the characters that you’ve RPed are you most like? Name character and fandom, if applicable. Canonically, Finland. I’ve only ever RPed a few canon characters, but Tino and I are very much alike, which is helpful when it comes to getting into his head [even if I make him too MANRY sometimes…but gosh darn it, he has a MANRY history!] The character that’s most like me overall was an OC on EAB, and rightfully so, as he was more or less a genderbent version of myself.

1. How long have you been roleplaying?
Oof...since the sixth grade...so...-counts on fingers- 11 years, since I discovered the Harry Potter RP boards around February vacation.
2. What is your favorite thing about roleplaying?
Probably getting to put my favorite characters in situations they'd never be in and trying to figure out how they react. I view RPing as a form of acting, really. You have to put yourself in a mindset to think like them. You have to think about how someone else, with specific personality traits and personal preferences that could vastly differ from your own, would answer a simple question or react to the most extreme circumstance. It's fun =3
3. How many RP boards have you been a member of? Give the approximate number if you can, or put “too many to count” if you can’t.
Hm...I've seriously been a part of...three or four, maybe. I've been a part of a lot more that never went anywhere past applications, have incredibly slow posters, or that I ended up dropping for various reasons.
4. Do you find that you more often play male or female characters?
Male. I can't think of any females I've played 'seriously' before...usually they're just filler characters.
5. Juveniles or adults?
Adults, but I've played a few kids before, either as minor characters or as a character I'm familiar playing as a child.
6. When RPing a fandom, do you prefer a more canon universe or alternate universes?
I enjoy both, honestly. In Hetalia there's lots to do in a canon universe - thousands of years of history to explore! - but at the same time AU's can be exciting.
7. How many words were in the longest post you’ve ever written?
I have no idea XD I usually just type right into the reply box, not in Word. I generally do longer applications in Word, but that's about it.
As an added note, the longest RP I have on record was over 3000 pages in Word, and we actually finished it rather than going 'I'm bored, let's get a new plot!'. The one we picked up after - and is still on-going - just passed the 2000 page mark.
8. Do you find it helpful to color text for character speech?
I find it a bit jarring, to be honest. When I look at a post my eyes go directly to the words and sometimes that kind of spoils it for me. I've never been on a board where you've been required to use color for speech, so for the few posts I've made I'll usually forget and end up going back to edit my post XD
9. Have you ever been power-played? ( Someone else moves or has your character speak without your permission? ) If so, to what extent were you power played?
Yeah...got power-played right into smut :I On Facebook of all places...a little innocent banter RP on a cosplay picture and the person in the shot with me suddenly had 'Germany' sucking their face. I was like '...uh...-stops commenting-'. It was awkward.
10. Come on now, confession is good for the soul. :3 Have you ever power-played?
I...can't think of any instances that I have. But I'm sure I've done it unintentionally before XD.
11. Ever been in a thread with someone who godmoded? ( Made their character too hard to hit, too hard to injure, or just in general required you to suspend too much disbelief? )
Yup. Saw it all the time on the HP forums.
12. Have you ever godmoded?
Hm...maybe in jest...but it's fun when your character gets hurt. DRAMA TAIMS.
13. Ever been in a thread where YOU were the one who had to drive all the action and/or getting the plot carried out, because if you didn’t it wouldn’t get done?
Nope. The people I've RP'd with in the past and I have a pretty good idea of where we want the threads to go.
14. In a thread, what’s the longest you’ve ever had to wait for a reply ( that you actually received )?
Er...a few months, probably. By which point I lost interest and didn't go back XD
15. Most unbelievable Mary Sue/ Gary Stu app you’ve ever seen on a site?
Harry Potter. So many. My God. You know the type...'I'm Voldemort's daughter who is in love with Snape but Draco loves me and my wand core is made out of diamonds and I'm a metamorphagus so I can change my hair color and eye color when I'm mad or sad or in love or blah blah blah....'
16. Did the character in #15 get accepted?
The HP boards I was a part of were more kind of a free-for-all. So yes.
17. Longest-lived RP site you’ve ever seen ( not necessarily been a member of ).
I was a part of one HP site that was alive and kickin' for a good three years. I posted on there every day in multiple topics. It's dead now, sadly, but I remember it well =3
18. Most time you’ve ever spent working on a single post.
Eh...I just type 'em in one sitting so...an hour?
19. Most sites you’ve ever been on at one time.
I'm a part of about three right now, but one is nearly dead and the other I'm on hiatus in until the end of my term.
20. Finally, which of the characters that you’ve RPed are you most like? Name character and fandom, if applicable.
Remus Lupin from Harry Potter, Xigbar from Kingdom Hearts, and Germany from Hetalia. Lupin is probably the most like me, and was one of my favorite characters, so I naturally gravitated towards familiarity. He was my first 'canon' character I RP'd. Xigbar is...not like me in any way, shape, or form, and it was nice to actually explore a character than rely on 'what I might do' to figure out what would happen. And Germany...I'm like him in some ways but he's so different in others that it's a constant '-typetypetype-...wait...he wouldn't do that...-delete- -sits and thinks for a while-'. Keeps me on mah toes!

1. How long have you been roleplaying? Let me see, I wasn’t really into writing with other people at least until I was thirteen. I had somehow managed to get one of my (longest to date) writing partners then. So –counts- seven years, at the least. As for the Hetalia fandom? Probably going on a year, I was more then a little interested in roleplaying it with other people then any other fandom.
2. What is your favorite thing about roleplaying? I enjoy the suspense of it. Sure, you can somewhat guess what the other is going to write back; but it is in their own stylized form. I love reading what other people write, and what their character has to say in response to my own. It’s not just the content, but the personality and feel to it. I’ve had many people tell me that writing is almost a window, or vent into but one tiny fraction of their train of thought.
I’d be lying if I said that isn’t interesting. I also just love writing in general. Even if it is alone. Being with other people who enjoy it as much as I do make my life at least ten times less boring.
3. How many RP boards have you been a member of? Give the approximate number if you can, or put “too many to count” if you can’t. I—honestly can’t remember. I’ll have to say at least over seven in the last three years that I have remained a member of longer then one month. There are some that I pop onto, and never really get into the groove. It’s the people you’re around that kind of dictate that, for me, at least.
4. Do you find that you more often play male or female characters? Male. I’ve played more male characters in my day, for sure. It makes me wonder if I’m secretly a man inside or something. Fer srs.
5. Juveniles or adults? Adults. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve played my share of juveniles, they just don’t last as long as my older characters. Even if they are outnumbered to kids on a board, it’s easier for me to be the ‘adult’ over rebellious teenager. I’ve played more 21+ characters in my day then those in their teens, or younger years.
6. When RPing a fandom, do you prefer a more canon universe or alternate universes? Depends on the fandom you’re asking about. Hetalia, sometimes AU is a tricky route. It can be fun, and you don’t need to know most of the underlining details; but that can also make it crash and burn before it’s time.
Canon is difficult to go wrong with, and I do enjoy that one as well. Hetalia makes little wiggle room for it, unless you actually know your history.
So to fully answer your question (for any fandom) it really depends on the content. I’m not too picky on where they fall on the field.
7. How many words were in the longest post you’ve ever written? Uh—I think on a Hetalia board, probably 4kish, though it was an opening post that needed a lot of attention. In general? I wouldn’t put it past me to go past 5kish, or more then that. I can’t really remember… which is sad. I need to start keeping my posts.
8. Do you find it helpful to color text for character speech? Yes, yes, yes, gods yes. I mean I can read it without it, but it helps in getting me more in sync with what’s being said. In my style of writing, I can sometimes mix up speech with thoughts, or ‘feelings’ in the paragraph beforehand. So it’s nice to have that barrier there. Also, makes it more colorful. I like colors.
9. Have you ever been power-played? ( Someone else moves or has your character speak without your permission? ) If so, to what extent were you power played? I think I was still new to the roleplaying scene when it happened. I can’t recall a time that it happened again, but there was this girl who actually was making my character talk. Like “Oh, (insert my character’s name here) said –this-.” And I just sent her a polite message like—“hey bro, uh..m.. do you have a character with the same name as mine or something?” And she apologized, in which later we became friends. :’D
I was like, thirteen at the time, or something. We were both derp, and I think she never did it again. She learned her lesson. Yay, learning experiences!
10. Come on now, confession is good for the soul. :3 Have you ever power-played? Nope! I’m proud to say I never have—probably because I had such a run in with the powerplayer early on in my roleplay career. I kind of learned that way that this = bad. :3
11. Ever been in a thread with someone who godmoded? ( Made their character too hard to hit, too hard to injure, or just in general required you to suspend too much disbelief?) Oh yes, this has happened more then powerplaying. I can count probably on both my hands how many times I’ve come through this. I mean, sometimes I’ve given consent to it (in order to move the plot) but those are being tossed aside for my initial count. I think my most infamous one was with (in the Hetalia realm)a Russia when I was playing the US. Cold War times, yeah, it kind of became a fistfight, and that didn’t turn out well. I believe the Russia kind of went along the lines of saying “he was made of stone, and nothing could hurt him.”
It’s utterly hilarious now, but far more frustrating back then.
12. Have you ever godmoded? I’ve been told once that I have, but I’m not sure that grabbing a character and pinning them without full 100% consent of the other roleplayer is godmodding. If so, then yes—but I don’t think I was old enough yet to really grasp that some people might see that as such. Fifteen or sixteen, meh, I don’t really know. But I talk more to those I roleplay with now, so that mistake won’t be repeated…
13. Ever been in a thread where YOU were the one who had to drive all the action and/or getting the plot carried out, because if you didn’t it wouldn’t get done? I’ve done more then that sometimes, I’ve had to help others out with their plot. That, and yes, I’ve had to move threads, even when it was on the other person’s window of influence. For instance, having said character 1 move character 2’s booty over to place B from place A so that he can move on with some sort of problem that is blockading his life. I don’t know-it’s such a weird feeling to be in control of a thread meant for someone else. So weird.
I think there was one too where we were roleplaying with five people and some castle was under attack. The person’s castle who was being attacked spent like.. two pages talking about strategy and keeping us inside—and at that point I was all..”OKAY GOING OUTSIDE TO FIGHT NOW BEFORE WE BURN TO THE GROUND. TTYL.” >> God, I was so young and stupid back then.
14. In a thread, what’s the longest you’ve ever had to wait for a reply ( that you actually received )? Probably a month, but that was a legitimate reason. She was out of the country, and did not have proper internet access. I’m not sure if it was worth the wait, but I got what she promised~ good enough for me.
15. Most unbelievable Mary Sue/ Gary Stu app you’ve ever seen on a site? There was one Fire Emblem site I was on, this girl was more then pushy about how her character was the “most beautiful” and heron (which are like angels in this fandom) royalty as well as her “bird” being the reincarnation of the world’s goddess.
16. Did the character in #15 get accepted? Sadly, yes.
Though later the Admins made her change a few things, then she got pissed—tried to get around them by other means; got banned—then the main admin let her back in after a few months of her begging. So..yes-no?
17. Longest-lived RP site you’ve ever seen ( not necessarily been a member of ). I think it was an AU multi-fandom thing, really fun and kind of derpy. Lasted at least two years, I think it was going on three before it moved and died.
18. Most time you’ve ever spent working on a single post. I’m a fast writer, so it normally doesn’t take me too long to push out a post. I think the longest one took me was one to two weeks, and that was one of my longer ones that needed polishing. Or I was just busy. I know that extending to that timeframe takes outside forces, as well as me being self-conscious about my writing.
19. Most sites you’ve ever been on at one time. I can’t handle more then three. Those that I am crazy-active on, at least. I might be able to handle more, if they were subtle with my activity.
20. Finally, which of the characters that you’ve RPed are you most like? Name character and fandom, if applicable. Squall Leonhart – Final Fantasy = Probably my anger, frustration, and more icy side coming out of my subconscious. I kind of like being an ass sometimes. Not saying that I am in real life, but hey; we all need our vents. Alfred F. Jones – Hetalia = Kind of oblivious, kind of innocent, someone who just wants to help others, although sometimes himself; sometimes getting his poor butt chewed for things others place on him. Who doesn’t like being the hero when one is needed? Even if you have to go through the ups and downs, the falls and rises—that’s what life is all about, yo. I think that’s why I like Alfred. Wang Yao – Hetalia = Tactical, calm, wise. Has seen the bottom and the top, someone who can be the pillar of strength even if he is wobbly. I’m also crazy maternal. :’D So I can see myself in Yao, I’d do anything for my family no matter what they managed to put me through. That sounds so self-destructive, but so true.

1. How long have you been roleplaying? I have been role-playing since Windows 94 came out on PC. (Totally just dated myself something fierce, right?) So about 17 years.
2. What is your favorite thing about roleplaying? I like the interaction it gives me. Rather than simply reading through material, there is more of a live experience that I find far more stimulating to my brain since it creates whole new avenues of possibility.
3. How many RP boards have you been a member of? Give the approximate number if you can, or put “too many to count” if you can’t. Probably too many to count would qualify. I have been at this for a while, on and off.
4. Do you find that you more often play male or female characters? I tend to gravitate naturally towards male characters. It seems easier for me to explore how they think, though it used to be the complete opposite. Once I tried playing a male character, it became an addiction.
5. Juveniles or adults? Adults; or at least people on the cusp of it. For some reason, playing children makes me grit my teeth.
6. When RPing a fandom, do you prefer a more canon universe or alternate universes? I tend to prefer the canon. Though straying occasionally into new realities is fun, I like to keep closer to the material I originally became interested in.
7. How many words were in the longest post you’ve ever written? 3.5K. It was a starter thread that got out of my hands and became its own entity. On the plus side, there was no confusion at all for my thread partner.
8. Do you find it helpful to color text for character speech? I do, depending on the color scheme. For eyes like mine it can sometimes be quite jarring to read the transition in text.
9. Have you ever been power-played? ( Someone else moves or has your character speak without your permission? ) If so, to what extent were you power played? I don’t know if it counts as power-play or not, but my character started out at one location in a thread, and then a few posts down the thread-leader decided that they were suddenly somewhere completely different.
10. Come on now, confession is good for the soul. :3 Have you ever power-played? I power-played once. It was only to end a thread that was getting nowhere at all, where I ended up being paired with a member who was quite fickle with their interest and rarely contributed. The character was hit with a truck in a rather unnatural way. They didn’t even realize is for nearly a month.
11. Ever been in a thread with someone who godmoded? ( Made their character too hard to hit, too hard to injure, or just in general required you to suspend too much disbelief? ) I was responsible for creating a combat scenario situation with a player who was pretty ill suited for them. We had discussed ahead of time that their character would eventually be getting captured by these enemy forces in the thread. But they kept trying to make it impossibly difficult for that to happen.
12. Have you ever godmoded? I haven’t. Then again, I am more likely to torture my characters than to make them invulnerable.
13. Ever been in a thread where YOU were the one who had to drive all the action and/or getting the plot carried out, because if you didn’t it wouldn’t get done? I have! It actually got to the point where I had to actually join into the thread as a secondary character I was playing on the board just to get my primary character out of the situation to wrap the thread up.
14. In a thread, what’s the longest you’ve ever had to wait for a reply ( that you actually received )? Two months. Right when I was prepared to delete the thread.
15. Most unbelievable Mary Sue/ Gary Stu app you’ve ever seen on a site? I haven’t seen any that are too bad. I think on some of the darker boards I’ve been on, it was more a problem of Tragic Character Has Tragic Past issues. There’s nothing worse than someone making a character into some Supreme Victim right out of the gate.
16. Did the character in #15 get accepted? Unfortunately, yes. And then the administration regretted it.
17. Longest-lived RP site you’ve ever seen ( not necessarily been a member of ). I think my first board, an Anne Rice one, lasted for about five years before we decided to close it due to several members having life transitions. Just couldn’t keep up with it anymore.
18. Most time you’ve ever spent working on a single post. I spent about one week getting a response done. That was only because there was so little to work with that it felt like agony just sitting down to get through it. I managed, though.
19. Most sites you’ve ever been on at one time. I believe that five was my limit. There comes a point where it just hit me that having more than that to juggle was rather ridiculous with as much as it taxed my brain. I am in awe of people who casually join 10 or more at one time.
20. Finally, which of the characters that you’ve RPed are you most like? Name character and fandom, if applicable. The character that I have the most common characteristics with that I’ve played would probably be Canada from Hetalia. We are very similar – except that I don’t have that level of invisibility powers. I am not sure if I feel cooler because of this or sad.

1. How long have you been roleplaying? about 8 years to my vague recollection xD
2. What is your favorite thing about roleplaying? World's. Greatest. Stress Reliever. I can hope out of my world, and whatever is going on in it and just vent or quell my emotions through my writing and take on a new persona. It's like time jumping or world jumping.
3. How many RP boards have you been a member of? Give the approximate number if you can, or put “too many to count” if you can’t.
I honestly cannot remember them all there have been so many with my changing fandoms but I'll guesstimate VERY roughly around 20.
4. Do you find that you more often play male or female characters? Male. Typically they're given a lot more personality spectrums in anime in my opinion. Plus I'm a shonen girl, it's to be expected xD
5. Juveniles or adults? adults
6. When RPing a fandom, do you prefer a more canon universe or alternate universes? After thinking about it for a bit, I'm pretty sure I'm more of an alt person. I think playing in Alternative situations gives one a bit more creative freedom with their writing, especially if you're working with a sub character (which I nearly always do xD).
7. How many words were in the longest post you’ve ever written?
1,300+
8. Do you find it helpful to color text for character speech? I do find it very helpful actually. This is the first RP I've been on that actually does that. I think it makes the post seem a little less daunting to read, and you don't lose your place as easy, as they serve as a sort of marker or break.
9. Have you ever been power-played? ( Someone else moves or has your character speak without your permission? ) If so, to what extent were you power played?
Yes, but only with actions.
10. Come on now, confession is good for the soul. :3 Have you ever power-played?
I think maybe MAYBE once in some sort of arguement fight RP... I think.
11. Ever been in a thread with someone who godmoded? ( Made their character too hard to hit, too hard to injure, or just in general required you to suspend too much disbelief? )
Who hasn't? Seriously.
12. Have you ever godmoded?
Hell to the NO.
13. Ever been in a thread where YOU were the one who had to drive all the action and/or getting the plot carried out, because if you didn’t it wouldn’t get done?
Nope c: I'm more of a follow along because RPing sub-characters makes it rather hard to drive a plot. I have tried many a time and failed to the point where I just kind of flow with it now xD
14. In a thread, what’s the longest you’ve ever had to wait for a reply ( that you actually received )?
2-3 weeks I'm pretty sure......then again there were those private ones that took a month :I
15. Most unbelievable Mary Sue/ Gary Stu app you’ve ever seen on a site? Can I just put every OC I've ever run across? Anything that is a girl, and or neko-ish/wolfish/foxish, multicolour eyes, horribly drawn weeabo fanart reference, possibly wings, illogical tragic past of wtf, usually 16, usually comes with a japanese name, oh... and let's not forget that multicolour emo hair! This OC will also be subject to being half-demon, with unpredictable things that set them off to becoming a rampaging torrent of inexcusable hormones.
16. Did the character in #15 get accepted?
uh... no. I don't think I'd ever join a site that had that because it'd be fairly easy to tell how well the site is functioning on the outside... save for Gaia or some stuff when I first started
17. Longest-lived RP site you’ve ever seen ( not necessarily been a member of ).
There's a DA one I was a part of for about 2 years, but it's been going for about 4 or 5 and is still ongoing... sort of... limping. And there's a chat version I'm on that's been around for about 2 years.
18. Most time you’ve ever spent working on a single post.
2 days. When I write my post I like to do it all in one go to get all the passion in with it. Otherwise it should just be scraped for me. I can't hop into the mood of something, leave it, then come back later expecting to still have the same emotions going on.
19. Most sites you’ve ever been on at one time.
I think about 5? Don't quote me.
20. Finally, which of the characters that you’ve RPed are you most like? Name character and fandom, if applicable.
Well I think to an extent we share a lot of similarities with all the characters we RP. I think though the closest ones for me have been Nosaru from Katekyo Hitman Reborn, and Switzerland.
