Okay! We're going to start ramping up the advertisements again before too long here and see if we can get some new blood ( and much-needed characters! ). In light of this, it would be helpful to know which avenues of recruitment are the most effective, so we know where to concentrate our efforts the most. So tell us how you found Darker! The information you provide will be used to help spread the awesomeness. Poll closes November 10, 8PM Pacific Northwest time.

I forgot XD RPG collection I think
Anyway, advice o/
Cut down on the text in the ad. Long winded ads put people off, usually very very quickly. I know you want literate RPers, which is fair enough. However, swamping them before they even look at the forum. This tends to make the forum seem very tight-fisted, which is a SERIOUS turn off. Short and sweet works a lot better usually.
Spruce it up! Code the text a bit to make it look more fancy, yah know? If people see you putting time into the small things they're liable to think 'Oh hey, they pay attention to detail!', or something like that. avoidecoloursthough
Make sure the image isn't huge, whilst also making it eyecatching. It should be pleasing to the eye, attractive really. Make it as aesthetically pleasing as possible!
Word of mouth= the best way. Bother the members to try and drag their friends over, since this usually does work far better. I mean lets face it, most of us know others who RP hetalia~
yeah, imma stop thinking now and PM you XD

I think I'd seen ads for DR before joining, but I honestly didn't pay much attention to them. ^^; I agree with Arthur about making the ads stand out a bit more so people will click on them.
I kind of found DR through the most random way possible. The time I actually got on the site and looked around a bit, I'd just been on the community masterlist looking for forums with active cboxes for me to fool around in for five minutes because I was bored. But when I saw DR was history related I got curious and looked around a bit.
The main thing that got me to join though was that I was impressed with how thorough everyone was in their apps and characterization, so definitely be sure to mention that in some way in the ad. People like well thought out characters.
