(((My Reflection)))
Nation: Japan.
Name: Honda Kiku.
Gender: Male.
Appearance Age: Late Twenties.
Hair Color: Black.
Eye Color: Dark Brown to black.
Height: 165 cm.
Weight: 140 lbs.
Appearance: He is of average weight and height. His hair and eyes are stereotypical of a Japanese man’s, which is dark brown, or black. His eyes give away no emotions, although you would think he would have bright eyes, just like the brother who raised him. His hair is cut in the shape of a bowl; a popular haircut for Japanese females some time ago.
His body looks almost frail, but being a nation spirit does that to you: makes you look scrawny, but you’re actually really strong. Many people assume that he over dresses due to his preferred type of clothing: a yukata. Surprisingly, or not so much, yukatas were casually worn by the Japanese before they were Americanized. This doesn’t mean that he only prefers Yukata: in the summer, he will sometimes wear t-shirts and shorts due to the sweltering heat. He wears suits to world meetings. He used to wear his uniform, until it was burned to ashes. Japan is often seen with back pains because he’s getting old. He's practically a grandpa now.
(((Know Thyself )))
Personality: It’s hard to describe a round character such as Japan and a whole essay may be needed. Japan used to be a quiet and a passive proto nation. While many people like to think that Japan is quiet because he is shy, that is not true. As a child when he was living with China, he was not shy or polite.
Even as a child, Japan has been well aware of his surroundings and the violent history around him. This would soon be the major factor that contributes to his personality. Nowadays, Japan is still quiet and a bit passive. However, he is also shy and polite. Or that’s what he wants them to think. It’s not as if Japan has an evil plot to trick everybody into thinking that he’s something he’s not. It’s his nature to be polite when he doesn’t want to be. It is also his nature to not complain. He generally is very poor at communication, due to the fact that he bottles it all up. Unfortunately, that’s what most people in Japan are like.
Other than that disturbing tidbit, he’s observant and quite smart, mind you. In world meetings, and in situations that matter, he is perfectly capable of speaking his mind, thank you very much. Unfortunately what he usually has to offer could be taken as offensive, blunt, or just uncalled for.
He tends to have an obsessive streak, where he holes up inside his room for days and weeks, just to browse the internet or to play a few games. Beneath the polite demeanour, he tends to be a bit of a pervert. Secretly. However, he does have his ‘dark’ personality that has been suppressed ever since the end of World War II: it’s very hard to get Japan angry nowadays.
Although he is quiet, this doesn’t stop Japan from being curious about things such as different cultures, religions, etc. He is always eager to learn different things, and use them to his own advantage. Japan shows discomfort at simple things such as touching, skinship, talking of relationships.

☣Loss of Family or loved ones through his own foolish actions
Secrets:
♦He secretly wants everything between his siblings to be better again.
♦He secretly could care less about some nations.
♦He sometimes cannot bear to look at his siblings. It’s the feeling of being sorry but having nothing to show for it. Also the fact that he can never be sorry enough, and that he can’t fix things.
Strengths:
Smart - You're looking at thousands of years of experience! Don't you know that old men have plenty of experience and wisdom??
Intuitive - He used to be a ninja. He is actually very good with matters concerning other people. He can't fix his own relations with his family, but he seems to do a very good job fixing other people's relationship problems. He 'sees' things differently, some tell him.
Skilled with weapons - Being about 2000 years old and fighting for as long as that has its perks. Japan is quite skilled with traditional weapons such as katanas, and also skilled with modern weapons such as guns. Lately though, his skills are getting rusty due to not being allowed to have much of an army.
Weaknesses:
Weak minded - He, like many Japanese people, like to conform. He will agree to other people's opinions if it will save him some troubles. He won't tell people his own doubts unless they're serious. If someone tells him to do something, he'll do it.
Sharp Tongue - If anybody gets on Japan's bad side, a hard task,(zero, at present time) he will unleash his anger out to you by words. They tend to be pretty hurtful and completely unrelated to the argument or the problem at hand. Nonetheless, he's made a few nations cry in the past.
No Communication skills - This is connected to the 'weak minded' section. However, this is more leaning towards personal issues with his family and friends. He does not understand what others would like from him. Japan has yet to apologize to his family as a family member: he has only apologized formally as a nation, along with his government. Japan fails to see that being himself could fix more problems than not. He is still very ashamed, and feels taht all he can do is give formal apologies. Nonetheless, he lacks a few crucial communication skills.

Sample Post:
Scenario : Hours before Pearl Harbour and Invasion of Hong Kong.
The Ship was headed for Hong Kong. Japan stood on the deck of the ship, watching the waves with apprehension. Japan would be going to Hong Kong to fight soon, and the thought of it did not bother him as much as it should have. He remembered the times long ago, when he would try his best to disobey an order, and fail. The relationship between him and his bosses were different back then; he was rebellious and reluctant all at the same time. Now he was just determined to please.
Many people’s faces came to mind. America’s shocked expression as he tried to explain what a cinema was. Hong Kong asking him, in a monotonous tone, to peel a mandarin orange for him. Watching the cherry blossoms with Arthur. Mei pulling at his hair as he gave her a piggy back ride. Fighting with Yong Soo over Yao-nii. And then, blood. China’s face of shock and betrayal, as Japan brought the katana down on his back. South and North Korea’s look of hurt, and then anger. Taiwan giving him a look of pity, sadness, and confusion as he stood over her, ready to run her country.
But those people meant little to him now. What mattered to him most was finishing his mission, and achieving his goals. Of course these attacks were direct orders from his emperor. Japan had no choice but to follow them, so he might as well do the job with skill. Japan no longer felt the deep loathing he felt for his bosses. Instead that feeling was replaced by a strong devotion and loyalty.
What kind of expression would America and Hong Kong have when he struck? How would Arthur react when he finds out that his precious ex-colony had been damaged by him? Yes, America was precious indeed. So precious that Arthur had broken their ‘friendship’ over him. Yes, Japan would show England how ‘precious’ America was. He would show everyone how strong he was. And then his beloved Emperor would smile upon him and praise him.
Japan ignored the aching bones and muscles in his body. He ignored the silent screams of his people, suffering under his Emperor’s rule. Without the emperor, there was no nation. Without a nation, Japan would cease to exist.
Japan only existed to please.
[[ OoC: My headcanon is that Japan had some sort of a complex with his bosses. Instead of hatefully obeying their commands (thus giving China and Korea no reason to hate him because they were only commands / no choice) he gratefully accepted them because he craved for their praise and attention. Of course, personal goals also play in part of his determinations, such as what he portrays as neglect and betrayal. ]]
Did you read the rules and Dark Reflections Canon? No, but I did have some delicious pasta. It was Italian, obviously.
Random fun fact about yourself: The only time I get very immature is when I’m obsessing over Hetalia. I’ve been out of the fandom for almost 9 months now. I’m also very sarcastic and think really lame things are funny. I apologize in advance. ; A;
Last w o r d s - I'm sorry if some parts are very brief; I like to keep applications simple for the reason that I would write pages and pages if I went into detail.
