I thought I'd stop being so shy and actually introduce myself here.
Hello, everyone! My name is Alexandre but if you're going to use my real name please just call me Alex, though I'd prefer being referred as my character (Austria, Roderich, Roddy, Priss, Wuss, etc. XD) to avoid confusion.
First of all, I am a guy Shocking, I know. XD and a very very big history nerd Why else would I be in this crazy community?. I love history so much that during my last year of High School, I corrected my teacher twice. I think that teacher hated me for a really long time afterward and yelled at me for correcting her, demanding that I cite source even though it was a fact. Oh well, suddenly I was known as the kid that knew more than the history teacher. Then again, it just proves how nerdy I am. ;////;
Here's a bit about myself. I live in Canada (near Montreal) and I am indeed a francophone. You might see a few grammar mistakes in my posts since I might confuse French grammar rules and the English ones. Besides that, I spend most of my free time playing video games since I have no life and sometimes drawing, trying to get better. I'm still completely out of practice since I've been lazy lately as I rarely draw outside of school and I was on holiday last week.
I've been RPing for a few years now, though I've been RPing as Austria for a little bit over a year now. If it wasn't obvious already, I ship Austria/Hungary very much. I know I'll disappoint a few by saying this but I can't really pair up with anyone else romantically (I don't think the one who brought me here would be very happy if I did anyways :'D). I don't mind bro-tastic moments, though.
Lastly, I use MSN all the time so ask me if you want my MSN address! I'm looking forward roleplaying with everyone!

Hey Alex, I figured that the least I can do is write you a formal greeting after we have met in the chatbox. I would say that you have come to the right place if you like history, though wow, to correct a teacher. XD; I'lladmittofallingasleepinUSHistoryforafullsemesterinhighschool.
As for your love for Austria/Hungary... No, I WOULD HAVE NEVER FIGURED IT OUT. <3 Just to ease your heart, since I'm aware of a certain sorta-canon pairing... I won't be coming after you for marrige. It's kind of refreshing to see an Austria that isn't hardcore ship-everything-under-the-sun-crazy (no offense to shippers). However, if you would like to rp Hapsburg stuff, let me know and I'll be happy to go along with it.
Hm... I have wanted to ask you... how do you do the whole long distance thing? I always find that it's always tough on both parties... and none of my relationships last long that way. :O

Hehe, thank you for the welcome! Honestly, her mistake was kinda understandable but it's her reaction that made the moment. Instead of being happy to be corrected since it kinda proves that at least someone is actually listening, she just flipped out.... Oh well. XD
Yeah yeah, I know of that pairing. XD It's just that in my headcanon, the only time nations are married is when they form an actual union. The thing about Spain and Austria is that they just have the same leader but are still two completely different entities. If that meant marriage, then Austria would be one hell of a polygamist. XD I'm glad to hear that I'm not breaking the heart of another Spain RPer. It tends to happen a lot. :'D Again, I wouldn't mind doing the Habsburg empire with you as long as it's not a marriage and more of a close alliance.
Long distance relationships are... very very difficult. Thankfully, we both believe it's going to be worth it in the long run... I plan to visit her this summer so we're both looking forward to that and it gives us hope. :3

Oh? Mind me asking about what the event was about?
... I think I like you more and more. I actually have the same head canon even though I've been lenient in playing certain pairings (thoughusuallyIcan't doit). Though Spain was under the Hapsburg rule, it wasn't like they were exactly happy about the alliance... nor did they seem to act like they were completely absorbed into the empire like Hungary was. Also, if you went along with the fact that something like a political marriage could mean a marriage between countries, then what of the Iberian Union (Idon'tseethatasamarriageeitherbutteehee)? Spain... would have been one hell of a divorcee. D; You'd think his Catholic leaders would have had a little talk with him.
Does it now? I'm sorry to hear that happen. I've had not nice things said to me when I tell people I don't ship/care to ship a pairing mycoloniesenduphatingmealot. It's not fun. :c But yeah, in terms of Hapsburg stuff, I was actually thinking more along the lines of a battle or something. Though I guess since we're talking about it, how does a close alliance sound? Seems like it was formed to put France in check anyway~ He's a tricky little guy. >:c
Oh, that's nice~! So I take it that you will go to Estonia then? Mind if I ask how you both met? It seems like it would have been one hell of a story if you both met while vacationing or something...

Hello and welcome to the board! Even though I've already chatted with you tons in the cbox, formal greetings are nice. I find the fact that you are a francophone awesome. ~ I took French in college, but sadly I am very out of practice now. I can read it better than I can write it, so if you happen to see me abuse the language in any way, please feel free to correct me.
We're happy to have another history lover, and another guy player. I think we have at least one other around here somewhere, but I have noticed they are harder to find on Hetalia forums.

@spain: Haha, I like you too. XD To be honest, marriages, alliances and all that in the Hetalia canon are so vague and confusing at some times. If you look through history, Spain and Austria end up hating eachother quite quickly as they start bickering over many things. I don't know much about the Iberian Union, though, so I wouldn't know. Yeah, the last Spain from another forum really shipped Spain/Austria. I felt kinda bad when I told her that I didn't RP yaoi. Same with a Prussia that shipped PruAus (though I really dislike the character anyways...) but oh well, I just can't do anything about that... We'll be meeting in Finland, actually. I had planned a trip to Finland to visit a mutual friend before we started going out. We just modified it so that we would spend some time together. Uh, how we met is nothing glorious. We both RP at the same forum, slowly got close together and slowly turned to love. ;//w//; France: Ah! To me, anyone who at least tried to learn French gains a lot of respect from me. French is a very very hard language to learn with many rules, exceptions and crap. I'd be more than happy to help you! Ah, so I'm not the only guy here? Aw. XD There goes my proclamation of "Only Male RPer in the boards" It's always nice to meet more history lovers, that's why I like Historical RP so much.

Hello, hello, hello~ new person who is newer then me! :’D
I’ve already spoken to you a little bit, but as France said—A proper hello and greeting is in order! It is a pleasure to meet you, Austria, and I look forward to watching you roleplay. orz Sadly, I have a feeling China and Austria won’t have many chances to interact, but I’m more then happy stalking threads~.
Haha, I actually took AP US History when I was in high school. Fun times. I didn’t get the chance to one-up my teacher though. We never really spoke about historical events that he didn’t know every detail about. Actually—now that I look back, I think he was the main reason I got into Asian history. He kind of would allude to it all sly-like, but of course—we never really got into it, being an American history class. That’s so awesome though, more power to the nerds!
It’s been a while since I’ve seen a male!Hetalia roleplayer. X3 It’s really not something you see every day! Oh, Francophone—also don’t see many of those. Sadly, I never took French..can’t speak French—look at how uncultured I am. Shame on me.
Ohhhh--myyyy~ Video games!? What kind do you like to play, if you don’t mind me asking? I’m such an oldschool RPG fanatic, myself. /nerdiness just went through the roof, excuse me. That’s just one of my main genre’s though. I’m such a VG junkie, although I rarely have time to play in college anymore. BT
Anyway, enough rambling! Hope you like it here, and welcome!!

Oh, an Austria~
Heyyyy~! I'm always happy to see an Austria floating around since I've played Austria before and I kind of just enjoy his character in general.
Ohhh snap a francophone is French and is very out of touch of culture and EVERYTHING except I know how to say like... a few words and I read it better than anything else in regards to that language SO...
I can't wait to see your Austria in action

OHAI Sweetness. I believe I have met you before :3 I am so glad you joined us here on Darker! (Not to mention glad I have found a fellow AusHun shipper :3)
I also had something like that happen with my Mythology teacher. (Yes I actually read the Illiad! pffft) and we got in a hot debate over one of it's key scenes lol. I am also a huge History nerd as that is how I stumbled on your other site :3
Anyway I am sooooooo glad you're here and I look forward to many threads to come my dear <3

@china: I always like proper greetings! Thank you~!
Hah, I guess I'd take US History if it was the only way to access any other history classes. Quite honestly, in Secondary school we spent our first two years making some weird overview of world history. Then we spent two years on Quebec history since they decided to drop Canadian history for another year of the exact same boring crap. During my last year I was able to take 20th century history (where I did the correction thing).
VIDYA GAEMS *shot* Yes, I play a tooooon of video games. They are my childhood and I still play them quite often. If I started to list the games I play... It would just be too long. Though recently, I've been playing a lot of Phoenix Wright/Ace Attorney games and I recently discovered Mass Effect, a very good sorta-RPG. Check it out if you're interested. Nothing wrong with the classic RPGs, though.
@america: Oh, have you now? He's probably the only character I can get right. XD
Oooh, French? Where from? Ah, that's sad. But hey, at least you know a few words! XD
@Wife Hungary: HUUUUUUUUN~ *pounces and luvs on* <333
Hey now, it was hard to say no when you offered. I really really love your Hungary and some serious (or not) RPing wouldn't hurt. :3
Oh oh! I read the Illiad too last semester! Mind if I ask what scene it was?
I'm looking forward many threads as well, dear~ <3
I know I've said it twenty times already but I love your signature. XD

Interesting... I seem to run into a lot of PruAus actually. Though my Prussia and I have turned down a few pairings as well. >> But honestly, I can't imagine SpAus being anything except an awkward odd couple. Though I suppose that it would be fun for a Spain to troll Austria, but that's not something you would need to be married for. :D; I guess forced roommates would be something just as effective... but what a clash in personality! It's kind of a strange pairing considering the fact that King Fernándo caused a lot of drama when Juana tried to take over the Spanish crown. He really didn't want the Hapsburgs to inherit at all.
The Iberian Union, to answer your question, is a personal union between Spain and Portugal when one of the Spanish princes happened to inherit both crowns (no shared governments). It was not a happy living arrangement since about a century later, Portugal left the union.
... maybe Spain is just a bad roommate.
That's very cute! Itmustbetheface/pinchescheeks
Yeah, but it definitely doesn't mean that you're not one of the very few that we see!
